An Evening with the Stephens
The Music of Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Sondheim
The Stephens we all know and love! Join the Worthington Chorus as they perform songs from these two great composers and lyricists. With popular favorites from Sweeney Todd, Godspell, West Side Story, Pippen, and Wicked, to name a few, the evening will be an enjoyable time for generations old and new.
From the Artistic Director...
"We decided that it was time to attempt a reinvention of the chorus and align it more with its hay days. These two composers were chosen because they reflect the genre of musical theatre and choral music that remains popular with both generations new and old. Musicals such as Sweeney Todd have been brought to life and into the fore front of modern culture with reinventions, while Wicked brings music to a new height and popularity. Classics such as Godspell, Into the Woods, and West Side Story are there as well, continuing to reaffirm the traditions of where we came from. We thought that this was a perfect starting point to launch the Chorus back into a more theatrical and lively performance."
